St Xavier's College, Palayamkottai
St. Xavier’s College, Palayamkottai, the South Indian Oxford – Never dreamt of getting a seat in such elite institution; It is my mother who always recognised and encouraged my potential and sent me to St. Xavier’s College in spite of severe odds at home; My brother Perumal and sister Seethalaksmi supported me a lot, and this gave me tremendous strength to achieve; though I struggled to make a difference in PUC as I was not able to cope with the English medium because of my remote rural background, I got the first rank in all the three years in my B.Sc. Zoology. I cannot fail to recognise my English Teacher Thiru Thiagarajan (who is no more now) whose untiring efforts in imparting knowledge in English, made and shaped me to write my first book “Immoral Traffic – Prostitution in India” in English. During my college days, my best friend M. Ramkumar treated me like his own brother, and I never felt out of the family. My college friends Bose, Elango, Paraman and Abdul Samath encouraged and supported me.
